From K - Decisions Decisions

I started an equilateral triangle quilt a couple of months back at Sewing Summit, while taking a class from Jeni Baker from In Color Order. I have been desperate to make some progress on this now very tardy baby gift but a few other quilts with deadlines had be tied up. This weekend with the help of an empty design wall, I started to play around with different arrangements and have landed on two options to decide between.

Option A: Random Arrangement

Option B: Diamond Arrangment

Equilateral Triangles - Diamond Arrangement
While I hummed and hawed and procrastinated making a decision, I decided to knit up a swatch of some new yarn, purchased with the thought of a new cardigan in mind. I'm thinking it's the perfect balance of tone-on-tone semi-solid and cashmere *insert drool here*

I also picked up some of the cutest little stitch markers of all time. Packaged up in a tiny glass vial, called 'Message in a Bottle' complete with cork top, little tiny crystal beads and a message about creativity. It was the perfect weekend treat!

So what do you think about my two options, any preferences out there? I hate making decisions, especially between two good options, so I'm happy for someone else to make this one for me. Feel free to toss in your vote!

Linking up to WiP Wednesday.

  1. I like the diamond arrangement, but with the teals more spread out instead of all on one side.

  2. I like them both, but am leaning towards the first one. Either way I'm sure it will turn out great!

  3. I also love them both, but the first has more contrast for me! :) Looks good!!! Blessings!

  5. I like them random, but I am more into triangles than diamonds at the moment. Do you like triangles or diamonds more in general? Great colors!

  8. Looks like we're going to make it hard on you by keeping the split pretty even so far. :) I like the diamonds because that feels fresh. I especially like the ones that combine 2 different prints in the same diamond.

  9. Diamonds. But that just goes with my matchy - cannot do random no matter how hard I try - personality. The colours are so gorgeous. Especially love what the orange is doing for the mix.

  10. Haha - now that I read over the comments, I see we have not helped you whatsoever, as we are pretty even on the voting. How about random - WITH some random diamonds??!! Make everyone happy lol!

  11. you know, my gut answer was scrappy, but the more I look at the diamond option, the more I like it. Something very structured about it that appeals.

  12. I vote random, though i do like the diamonds. But i like the random better with your fabrics, more fun less structure! Hmmm, but the diamonds are pretty...

  13. I personally prefer random…but both look nice. What if you mix them and go mostly random with a few diamonds to "stick out"?

  16. Hard choice... I think I prefer the diamond, but the random one keeps calling me name... either way I think it is beautiful!

  17. The good thing about this choice is that you can't go wrong. Either way, it's going to be fantastic...that being said, I'm leaning towards the diamonds!

  18. Decisions! Decisions! It's things like this that stall me in my WIP. I think I prefer the random one as it really shows it is a triangle top. Good luck with deciding. It looks like all the comments are split into both camps.

  20. I prefer option b. I wish I had the patience to knit. My Mom taught me, but
i get so frustrated because it takes me so long!

  21. I like the random arrangement. Maybe it's the light at different times, but it feels more vibrant to me. But you'll get as many opinions as people you ask...!
